As a business in the community that employs and works with the refugee and immigrant families, we are so proud of the programs that are in place for our community members. We wanted you to know that there is an awesome Mentorship Program and share the information.

Here’s a note from the President and Founder of the Act For Humanity (AFH) Foundation of Lancaster.
I’m excited to announce another year of our Access, Empower, Connect (ACE) Mentorship Program.

The AFH Foundation’s ACE Mentorship Program works with high school students of refugee and immigrant families in the Lancaster, PA area to support them in achieving their vision of success after they complete high school. It’s a participatory program that matches students with college student coaches for ongoing mentoring support based on the students’ own personal goals.  Some of the types of support we anticipate providing are: drafting resumes and cover letters, applying for opportunities outside of school (internships, jobs, scholarships, etc.), and ongoing academic support.

We’re in the process of receiving applications from students interested in being part of this program for the 2019-2020 school year, and we wondered if you know of any students who might want to apply?

The link to the online application is here. I’m also available to answer any questions you might have about the program if you’d like to talk before passing this opportunity on to students.

Note that the deadline for applying is September 23rd. We anticipate letting students know about acceptance decisions no later than September 30th.

Thanks for your time and consideration! Please do let us know if you have any questions.

Warm regards,
